Implementation
Installed, configured and trained before you go live
A system arrives working or it arrives as a project. We do the item file, the programming, the training and the go-live — remotely anywhere in the country, onsite across Tampa Bay.
Remote implementation nationwide. Onsite across Tampa Bay.
What happens between buying a POS system and using it?
Four things: the item file is built or converted, the system is programmed for how the store actually trades, staff are trained before go-live rather than during it, and somebody is present — in person or remotely — on the day it goes live. Skipping any of them is what turns a good system into a bad first week.
Most of this is done remotely, and remote does not mean lesser: the item file and programming are the same work wherever it is performed from.
- The item file comes firstNothing else can be configured against a file that does not exist.
- Programming follows the workflowDepartments, prompts and permissions are how the store trades.
- Training happens before go-liveThe first busy hour is the wrong classroom.
- Somebody is there on the dayGo-live is when the unexpected arrives.
How long an implementation takes depends on the item file and the number of lanes, so we scope it against your store rather than quoting a standard timeline.
The work, in order
From the first review to support after go-live, step by step
Each step is named work with an owner, finished before the next one depends on it.
Review what the store runs today
Replace an existing POSThe current software, the counters and the item file, looked at first, so what carries over is known before anything is quoted.
Convert what can move
Data conversionItems, customer records and history, moved from what the old system can export and scoped from a real export.
Build the item file
Item file setupDepartments, descriptions, barcodes, pricing, cost and the flags that change what the register does.
Configure Infinity and the hardware
Hardware for InfinityThe system programmed for how the store trades, and the counter hardware configured against it, so it arrives ready rather than set to defaults.
Set up the network and payments
Network setupThe lanes, the back office and the connection between them, and card processing through Bold or Hybrid where payments are part of the system.
Train each role
Cashiers, managers, receiving and the back office, each on their own workflows, before go-live rather than during it.
Go-live, attended remotely or onsite in Tampa Bay
Showroom and local supportSomebody is there for the day the lanes go live, remotely anywhere in the country or at the counter across Tampa Bay.
Support after go-live
SupportStandard support hours are weekdays 9–5. What support covers, and what it costs, is set out on the support page.
Training
Training by role, on the work each person does
Each role learns its own part of Infinity before go-live. The linked pages show what each workflow involves.
Cashiers
Age-restricted salesRinging sales, taking payments, and working with configured age-restricted item controls and supervisor authorization where required.
Managers
Cash managementCounting tills against a recorded figure, permissions, and the voids, discounts and drawer openings each employee is accountable for.
Receiving
Purchase ordersDeliveries received against the purchase order, with cost captured at receipt and short deliveries surfaced when they arrive.
Back office
Label printingPrice changes, and the shelf and barcode labels printed from the same item file the register rings from.
Owners
Retail reportingThe sales, margin and movement reports worth reading every week, and what each one can and cannot tell you.
Where changeovers go wrong
-
Go-live becomes data entry
Staff type the item file while customers wait.
The file is built or converted before the date, not on it.
Data conversion -
Training is a leaflet
Everyone learns the system in front of a queue.
Training is scheduled work with a date, before go-live.
-
The network was assumed
Lanes drop and nobody owns the problem.
Network setup is scoped as part of the implementation.
Network setup -
Everything moves on one weekend
A single bad day takes the whole store with it.
Staged changeover where the store allows it.

Implementation questions
Can you install remotely?
Yes, and most implementations are remote. The item file, the programming and the training are the same work wherever it is done from.
Do you come onsite?
Across Tampa Bay, yes. Outside it, implementation is remote and hardware is shipped configured.
How long does it take?
It depends on the item file and the lane count, which is why we scope it against your store rather than quoting a standard timeline.
Does the store have to close?
Normally not. Changeovers are staged so that trading continues, and which lanes move first is part of the plan.
Who trains the staff?
We do, before go-live. Training after go-live is remediation, not training.
Are installation and training included in the price?
They are scoped and quoted for your store rather than priced from a list, because the work depends on the item file, the number of lanes and whether data has to move. The hourly rate on the support page is for support, not for implementation.
What happens after go-live?
Support takes over, on the hours and terms the support page sets out. It is not a 24/7 service.
Tell us what the changeover involves
What you run today, how many lanes, and whether data has to move. That is enough to scope the implementation.
