Label printer questions
What is the difference between direct thermal and thermal transfer?
Direct thermal printers print on heat-sensitive label stock and need no ribbon. Thermal transfer printers use a ribbon, and the ribbon has to suit the label material. Which you need depends on the label and the job, so confirm the media before you order.
Which label printer works with my software?
It depends on the printer model, the interface and the label language your software sends, not on the category. Tell us your software, label size and current printer, and we will help narrow the right model.
Can I replace an older label printer with a current model?
Often a current model can do the same job, but print width, DPI, media, interface and label language should all be checked first. Send us the printer you have and we will help identify a current model.
Do I need a mobile label printer?
If labels have to be printed where the work happens, such as receiving, inventory or route work, a portable printer is worth considering. Check how it connects to your device and how long a shift runs between charges.
