Infinity can restrict how and when individual items are sold, including customer-age, date, day and time controls. It can also validate whether the logged-in operator is old enough to sell an age-restricted item.

How does a POS system handle age-restricted sales?
Infinity stores sale restrictions on the stock item, including customer-age and date/time controls. Separately, its Age Restricted Selling setting can validate the logged-in operator's age from the user's date of birth. If the operator is too young to sell the item, Infinity displays an authorization prompt and requires a supervisor; the supervisor's age is validated too.
The value is consistency. A rule applied by memory is applied unevenly, and unevenness is what a compliance check finds.

Yes. A stock item can be configured with a customer-age restriction that controls how the item may be sold.
What happens if the cashier is too young to sell the item?
When Age Restricted Selling is enabled and the logged-in operator is too young, Infinity displays an authorization prompt and requires a supervisor. The supervisor's age is also validated.
Can age-restricted authorization be logged?
Yes. When Age Restricted Selling is configured as Yes (Log), Infinity adds an entry to the EventLog.
