Merchant processing
Send a statement, get it read by a person
The BizTracker Merchant Statement Review is free and there is no obligation to switch processors. One recent processing statement is enough to say plainly what you are paying, what is avoidable, and whether integrating with the POS would change anything. No rate is promised before somebody has read it.
Read by a person. No obligation to switch processors.
What happens in a merchant statement review?
Somebody reads your statement line by line and tells you what each charge is, which ones are avoidable, and what the complete monthly cost actually is once fees and equipment charges are counted. Then, separately, whether integrating processing with the POS would change how the counter works. Those are two different questions and they get two different answers.
Plenty of statements come back with "this is already competitive". That is a real outcome and we would rather say it than manufacture a saving.
- A person reads it, not a calculatorThe interesting charges are rarely the headline rate.
- The complete monthly costFees and equipment charges are where the money usually is.
- Integration is a separate questionWhether it suits your counter is about workflow, not price.
- "Already competitive" is a real answerManufacturing a saving is how trust gets lost.
No rate, saving or figure is quoted before the statement has been read, and none appears on this site. Anyone quoting you a rate before seeing your statement is guessing.
What happens next
How it works
One document in, a plain answer out.
1. Send one recent statement
A full month, including the fee detail pages people usually skip.
2. We read it
Line by line, including the charges that are not the rate.
3. You get it explained
Merchant processingWhat each charge is, and which are avoidable.
4. Integration, separately
Separate terminal vs integratedWhether running payments through the POS would change the counter.
What makes a statement hard to read
-
The headline rate is not the cost
The advertised number bears little relation to the monthly total.
We total the complete cost, fees and equipment charges included.
Merchant processing -
Charges nobody can name
Line items that have been paid for years without explanation.
Each one is identified, including the ones that are simply avoidable.
-
Equipment is leased separately
A lease can outlast the equipment and the relationship.
Lease and contract terms are looked at as part of the review.
Switching POS systems -
Switching feels risky mid-trade
Nobody wants payments to break on a Saturday.
The cutover is planned with the POS rather than handled separately.
Payment outage planning
Statement review questions
What do you need from me?
One recent monthly statement, including the fee detail pages. If payments run through a POS, knowing which system helps.
Will you quote me a rate?
Not before reading the statement. Any figure specific to your business comes after the review, in writing.
What if my current processing is fine?
Then we will say so. Some statements are already competitive, and telling you that is worth more than a manufactured saving.
Do I have to change my POS as well?
No. Processing and the POS are separate decisions, even though they are better made together.
I am choosing Infinity. What is my statement compared against?
For an Infinity system the processing paths are Bold and Hybrid, and the review reads your current statement and how your counter takes payment before either is recommended. No rate is promised before it has been read.
Is there help with the cost of switching?
Switching assistance may be available for qualifying merchant-processing accounts after review of your current provider, contract and equipment situation. Whether anything is available depends on that review.
Send one statement
A full recent month, fee detail included, is all the review needs. Ask for it through the contact form, choosing Merchant Processing Review, and leave statement and card details out of the message.
