Bars, breweries and taprooms

Bar and brewery POS systems, built on LINGA

A bar runs on open tabs, split checks and a rush that does not wait for the system to catch up. BizTracker builds bar, brewery and taproom systems on LINGA, its restaurant platform, and specifies, installs, trains and supports them itself.

Remote setup and training nationwide. Onsite service across Tampa Bay.

What should a bar or brewery POS system handle?

Tabs opened and kept straight through a rush, checks split the way the table asks, drinks and food ordered from the same ticket with the kitchen seeing its part, tips handled at close, and reporting that tells the owner what actually sold. For bars and breweries, as for other restaurants, BizTracker uses LINGA rather than the Infinity retail platform.

The distinguishing problem in a bar is not the transaction, it is the time between transactions. A tab is open for an hour, moves along the bar, picks up a food order and gets split three ways at the end, and none of that can slow the next round down.

  • Tabs that survive a rushAn open tab moves, grows and gets split, and the bartender should not be fighting the screen.
  • Drinks and food on one ticketThe kitchen needs its part of the order without anything being re-keyed.
  • Tips and close handled onceCash-up is when the errors of a busy night turn up.
  • One team for setup, training and supportThe same model as BizTracker’s retail systems.

How your own menu, tab workflow and kitchen routing are built in LINGA is worth seeing in a demo on your own menu before you choose any system, ours included.

What bar and brewery owners bring us

  • Tabs get lost, or served by somebody who did not open them

Drinks walk out unpaid and nobody can prove what happened.

Tabs are owned, transferred deliberately and visible to whoever is working the bar.

  • Splitting a check takes longer than pouring the round

The queue backs up at exactly the moment the bar is earning.

Checks split by item or by share at the point of payment rather than rebuilt from scratch.

  • Food orders reach the kitchen by shouting

The kitchen works from memory and the wrong plate goes out.

Food items routed to the kitchen from the ticket they were ordered on.

    Kitchen display system
  • Nobody knows what a keg actually returned

Pricing is set on instinct and the thin lines look like the good ones.

Reporting by item, category and period, so drink and food performance can be read separately.

  • Online and pickup orders are a second system

Somebody re-keys them during service, which is when mistakes happen.

Online ordering handled in the same platform as the counter, so an order arrives as an order.

  • Cash-up disagrees with the till every other night

The shortfall is nobody’s fault and never gets resolved.

Tips, discounts, voids and payments recorded against the staff member who took them.

What to make a bar POS demonstrate

Ask for the demo on your own menu, at the speed a Friday actually runs. These are the five things that decide whether a bar system works.

  • A tab opened, moved and closed

Ask to see a tab started, passed to another bartender and closed out, with what each step takes on screen.

    Restaurant POS
  • A check split three ways

Ask to see a table’s check split by item and by share, at the point somebody is standing there waiting.

    Restaurant POS
  • A food order from the bar

Ask to see food ordered on a drinks ticket and what the kitchen sees when it lands.

    Kitchen display system
  • A happy-hour price

Ask to see a time-based price applied and what happens to a tab that was open before it started.

    Restaurant POS
  • Close of night

Ask to see the close: tips, voids, discounts and payments by staff member, and the report the owner reads the next morning.

Bar and brewery POS questions

Is this the same platform as your retail systems?

No, and deliberately. Retail runs on Infinity; bars, breweries, taprooms and restaurants run on LINGA. Which platform applies is settled before anything is specified, because half a demonstration of the wrong one helps nobody.

Can it handle a brewery that also serves food?

Yes. Drinks and food are ordered on the same ticket and the kitchen sees its part. Ask to see a food order placed from the bar in the demo, on your own menu.

What about online and pickup orders?

Online ordering is handled in the same platform as the counter, so an order arrives as an order rather than as a message somebody re-keys during service.

Can I see what each bartender did?

Sales, payments, tips, discounts and voids are recorded against the staff member who took them, which is what makes a disputed cash-up answerable.

Do you set it up, or do I?

We do. Planning, configuration, training and go-live are services we run. The platform differs; the implementation, training and support model does not.

Can you look at what I am paying for card processing?

Yes, from a statement. The BizTracker Merchant Statement Review reads your current statement line by line and comes back with what it shows. No rate, saving or figure is quoted before somebody has read one.

Do you cover more than one venue?

Tell us how many venues and how they differ, and we will say what that changes about the specification before quoting it. Setup and training are remote nationwide, with onsite service across Tampa Bay.
