Cafes & bakeries
Cafe and bakery POS, built on LINGA
A cafe sells two things at once: drinks built to order, and whatever came out of the oven this morning. One is a modifier problem and the other is a counting problem, and the morning rush does not wait for either. BizTracker builds cafe and bakery systems on LINGA, its restaurant platform, and specifies, installs, trains and supports them itself.
Remote setup and training nationwide. Onsite service across Tampa Bay.
What should a cafe or bakery POS handle?
Drinks entered as they are ordered — size, milk, shots, syrup — without slowing the queue behind them, and the counter case rung up as fast as somebody can point at it. Orders placed ahead should arrive in the same queue. For cafes and bakeries, as for other restaurants, BizTracker uses LINGA rather than the Infinity retail platform.
Most of a cafe’s rush is a handful of drinks with a handful of variations. What makes the queue move is how few taps the common ones take, and what makes it stop is a drink nobody can find on the screen.
- Modifiers that keep upSize, milk, shots and syrups are the order, not an afterthought.
- The case rung up fastPastries are pointed at, not searched for.
- Orders placed aheadA pickup order should be in the same queue as the person at the counter.
- One team for setup, training and supportThe same model as BizTracker’s retail systems.
How your own menu is built in LINGA — which modifiers are required, how a size changes a price, how a regular’s usual is found — is worth seeing in a demo on your menu before you choose any system, ours included.
What cafe and bakery owners bring us
-
Drink orders take too many taps
The queue backs up over a large oat latte with an extra shot.
Modifier groups arranged around the drinks that are actually ordered, not the whole menu.
-
The counter case is slow to ring up
Staff hunt for a pastry while the next customer waits.
Quick buttons for the case, changed as the case changes.
-
Pickup orders arrive on a separate screen
Somebody re-keys them mid-rush, or misses one.
Online and pickup orders route into the same system.
Online ordering -
The menu lives in the old system
Nobody wants to rebuild a drinks menu by hand.
What moves depends on what the current system can export, so the conversion is scoped from a real export before anything is committed.
-
Card processing is a separate relationship
Reconciliation and disputes involve two vendors.
Processing integrated with the POS.

What to see in a cafe or bakery demo
A cafe is judged on the morning, not the afternoon. Ask to see these done on your own menu before you choose a system, ours included.
Your three busiest drinks
Ask for each to be entered with its usual modifiers, and count the taps. That number is what the morning rush runs on.
A drink nobody has ordered before
Ask for something off-menu to be built and priced, and see whether the person at the till could do it without help.
The counter case
Ask how today’s pastries get onto the screen, and who changes them tomorrow when the case is different.
Orders placed ahead
On LINGA, online orders route into the same system rather than arriving on a separate tablet that somebody re-keys during service. Ask to see one land while a counter order is being taken.
A regular
Ask whether a regular customer’s usual can be found and repeated, and whether loyalty or gift cards would be part of the system you buy.
What the manager reads
Ask for the report that says what sold before eleven, because that is the part of a cafe’s day that pays for the rest of it.
Set up remotely, or onsite in Tampa Bay

Cafe and bakery POS questions
Which POS does BizTracker use for a cafe or bakery?
LINGA, BizTracker’s restaurant platform. Cafes and bakeries, like other restaurants and bars, do not go through Infinity, which is the retail platform.
Does this cover a cafeteria or a coffee counter inside another business?
Usually, yes — the operation is the same one: a short menu, a queue at a fixed time of day and orders placed ahead. What differs is who is billed and how, which is a question worth raising early rather than late.
Can it handle a bakery that sells by weight?
A scale at the counter is a retail workflow rather than a restaurant one, so if that is how you sell, say so early: it changes which platform fits and it is worth settling before anything else. We build both.
Do pickup orders come into the same system?
Yes. On LINGA, online orders route into the same system rather than arriving on a separate tablet that somebody re-keys during service.
Can card processing be integrated?
Yes, and it is worth doing for the same reason as in retail: one system to reconcile and one number to call. If current card processing is part of the decision, start with a statement review.
Can our menu be moved from the system we have now?
What moves depends on what the current system can export, so the conversion is scoped from a real export before anything is committed.
Does BizTracker set up cafe systems outside Tampa Bay?
Yes. Restaurant systems follow the same implementation and support model as retail: setup and training can be handled remotely nationwide, with onsite installation and service across Tampa Bay.
